Relationships Among Trophic Niche Width, Morphological Variation, and Genetic Diversity of Hemiculter leucisculus in China

چکیده

According to the niche variation hypothesis (NVH), populations with wider niches are phenotypically more variable than those narrow niches. Giller expanded NVH, suggesting that width, morphological variation, and genetic diversity all positively correlated. However, has been a subject of debate discussion. In present study, NVH was tested by analyzing relationships among trophic Hemiculter leucisculus , widespread cyprinid fish. The fish samples were collected from six sites across Haihe, Yellow, Yangtze River basins in China. analyzed using Pearson correlation at inter-population level. Our analysis indicated width is significantly correlated which corroborates NVH. Morphological diversity. no relationship observed between We inferred dietary H. might change due plastic response toward environmental changes rather variation. also suggest effects environment heredity on freshwater should be quantified separately further studies.

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Trophic niche width increases with bill-size variation in a generalist passerine: a test of niche variation hypothesis.

The niche variation hypothesis (NVH) predicts that populations with wider niches are phenotypically more variable than populations with narrower niches, which is frequently used to explain diversifying processes such as ecological release. However, not all empirical evidence supports the NVH. Furthermore, a relationship between population phenotypic variation and niche width can be caused by se...

Macrophytes shape trophic niche variation among generalist fishes

Generalist species commonly have a fundamental role in ecosystems as they can integrate spatially distinct habitats and food-web compartments, as well as control the composition, abundance and behavior of organisms at different trophic levels. Generalist populations typically consist of specialized individuals, but the potential for and hence degree of individual niche variation can be largely ...

Genetic diversity and relationships among traits in potato genotypes using agronomic traits and molecular marker (SSR).

The molecular marker (SSR) has been used to investigate the markers associated with the agronomic traits including days to 50% flowering, tube ring time, days to maturity, plant height, the number of main stems per plant, the number of tubers per plant, dry matter content, main stem diameter, a single tuber weight, average single tuber weight, and the total yield in potato genotypes. Ten primer...

Investigation of Genetic Diversity and Relationships Among Agronomic Traits of Some Flax Genotypes

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) from the Linum genus and Linaceae family is one of the oldest oil products in the world. A natural population with sufficient genetic diversity is necessary to select the desired phenotypic traits, so the study of genetic diversity and the correct selection of essential tools is the main breed of plant. Agriculture fac...
